On the 5^th October 2023, the Embassy of Philippines has organized the celebration of the 50^th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Philippines and the Czech Republic. The event has been held at the Hotel Lindner, Strahov, Prague 1.

The Ambassador of Philippines, H.E. Eduardo R. Menez has offered the opening remarks and has recalled the memories of Dr. Jose Rizal and Prof.  Ferdinand Blumentritt who started their friendship in 1886. This link is considered as a symbol of amity between the two nations.  Their descendants have been present at the ceremony together with the Mayor of Litomerice Radek Loewy.

The Czech authorities have been represented by Edvard Lozusnik, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Katerina Sequensova, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romana Fischerova, Member of the Czech Parliament and the already mentioned Mayor of Litomerice Radek Loewy.

The event has been enjoyed by a number of selected guests, in particular diplomats of other Embassies in Prague and other personalities from the business and social communities.

The event has been held within the wonderful premises of the Hotel Lindner located in one of the most suggestive areas of Prague, Strahov, just behind the Castle.
