Chamber of Deputies speaker emphasizes Czech-Taiwan solidarity

Marketa Pekarova Adamova, the Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, recently expressed her solidarity with Taiwan during a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press conference. She emphasized the importance of safeguarding freedom and democracy as a daily obligation, and praised the friendship and cooperation between the Czech and Taiwanese parliaments.

During the pandemic, Taiwan and the Czech Republic provided mutual assistance, with Taiwan providing masks and the Czech Republic sending vaccines when needed. Adamova promised to continue promoting mutual assistance and deepening cooperation between Taiwan and her country, and praised the recent agreements signed in different fields to protect democracy and freedom.

During her visit, the delegation met with the Minister of Digital Affairs and discussed public security and cybersecurity, but did not comment on military cooperation. Taiwan is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to purchase Czech-made mobile missile launchers and self-propelled howitzers.

Overall, the visit highlights the importance of cooperation and friendship between countries in protecting freedom and democracy, and the potential for collaboration in various fields to strengthen these values.
