COVID-19 Isolation Voting Procedures in the Czech Republic

In Czech Republic, people who are in isolation due to COVID-19 are allowed to vote for the next president of the republic on Wednesday. They can vote from their cars between 8:00am and 5:00pm at designated polling stations in Prague and in each district.

They must provide a credible paper or electronic receipt of a positive coronavirus test result, or complete and sign an affidavit in front of the polling station stating that they are in isolation. The isolation should be ordered by a doctor or hygienist according to the applicable rules and be in effect for at least seven days or two days after the end of symptoms.

People with coronavirus will also be able to vote in a portable ballot box on Friday, January 13, from 8:00am to 10:00pm or Saturday, January 14, from 8:00am to 2:00pm. They must request this method of voting from the local, regional authority or Prague City Hall no later than 8:00pm on Thursday, January 12.
