Czech Railways Launches New Season of ČD Bike Rental Shops at Train Stations

Czech Railways has launched a new season of ČD Bike rental shops on April 1, offering bicycles for rent directly at train stations across the country. Along with bicycles, electric bikes and scooters are also available for rent, with accessories such as helmets and mobile phone holders also offered. This season, the number of rental shops open year-round has increased from twelve to eighteen. Meanwhile, seasonal rental shops will be open from April 1 to October 31 in 23 stations throughout the Czech Republic. A total of 68 rental shops will be available at train stations located in attractive tourist areas. Jana Rotreklová, ČD Bike Project Manager, said that the service is suitable for anyone who wants to combine environmentally friendly railway transport with the possibility of renting a bike at the station and cycling on picturesque cycle paths through nature and around several landmarks. The essential rental price list remains unchanged from last year and is uniform across all rental shops. A full-day bicycle or scooter rental costs CZK 230, while an electric bike for the whole day will cost CZK 390. Those interested in renting for half a day, or a maximum of 6 hours, will pay CZK 190. Passengers who hold In Cards or train tickets are eligible for even more advantageous prices. One-day bike or scooter rental will cost CZK 190, and an electric bike will cost CZK 340. A half-day bike rental will cost CZK 160. Passengers who collect points in the ČD Points loyalty program will pay 100 points for a full-day rental. The rental shops offer more than just bicycles, with children’s bikes available for CZK 130 per day, child bike seats for CZK 50 per day, and a bike trailer for CZK 130. An adult helmet costs CZK 30, and children receive a free helmet with the bike. Additionally, a mobile phone holder costs CZK 20. ČD Bike has expanded the number of rental shops open year-round from twelve to eighteen this year, and nine branches will operate on a pre-order basis as they did last year. The branch in Světlá nad Sázavou will be closed this year due to reconstruction, while the operational mode at the branch in the spa town of Jeseník will change from mid-May, and bikes will no longer need to be ordered in advance. In conclusion, the ČD Bike rental shops provide an affordable and eco-friendly way for tourists and locals to explore the Czech Republic’s stunning landscapes and cultural landmarks. With more rental shops available throughout the year, visitors can enjoy cycling throughout the seasons and avoid the hassle of transporting their own bikes.
