Czech Republic Braces for Summer Heat Wave and Thunderstorms in the Coming Week
The Czech Republic is preparing for a return of summer temperatures this weekend, with meteorologists predicting tropical weather conditions exceeding 30°C in the following week. However, along with the heat, warm and humid air masses will also bring the likelihood of thunderstorms to the region, warns meteorologist Dagmar Honsová.
The current workweek has seen temperatures below the long-term average, with frosty valleys even experiencing freezing temperatures. However, by the weekend, summer will make a comeback in full force.
Thursday will bring scattered clouds accompanied by occasional showers and thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures will range from 20 to 24°C.
Friday is expected to be partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The morning will start with lows of 11 to 7°C, while afternoon highs will reach 20 to 24°C.
Saturday will see a mix of partly to mostly cloudy skies, with morning temperatures ranging from 13 to 9°C and afternoon highs of 21 to 25°C.
Sunday’s forecast includes mostly cloudy conditions, occasional showers, and the possibility of thunderstorms. Morning lows will be around 12 to 8°C, and daytime temperatures will climb to 22 to 26°C.
The upcoming week will bring even warmer temperatures. Monday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows will be 14 to 10°C, and afternoon highs will reach 25 to 29°C.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered showers or thunderstorms still in the forecast. Tuesday morning temperatures will range from 16 to 12°C, with afternoon highs of 26 to 30°C. Wednesday will start with warmer morning lows of 18 to 14°C, while afternoon highs will remain similar to Tuesday.
As the heat wave approaches, it is crucial to take necessary precautions. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and seek shade or air-conditioned spaces during the hottest parts of the day. Additionally, stay informed about weather updates and follow any safety guidelines provided by local authorities to ensure your well-being during this period of intense summer weather.
