In a display of exceptional marksmanship, physical fitness, terrain orientation, and mental resilience, Czech snipers have achieved remarkable success by clinching the second place at the European Best Sniper Team Competition 2023. Competing against over 25 teams from 15 NATO countries, the mixed team of snipers from the 43rd Parachute Regiment and the 42nd Mechanized Battalion “Svatováclavský” in Tábor demonstrated their exceptional skills, with only the Finnish team outperforming them. The team from the United States secured the third position in the competition.

The European Best Sniper Team Competition is a rigorous event that lasts for several days and tests the abilities of snipers across various categories. This year, the competition took place at the Grafenwoehr training area in Bavaria, providing a challenging and realistic setting for the teams.

The Czech Army took to social media to express their pride and congratulations for the Czech snipers, stating, “Our soldiers competed against the very best in their category. Only the legends from Finland shot better. Congratulations.”

Minister of Defense Jana Černochová (ODS) commended the Czech snipers for their outstanding performance, describing it as a significant success for the Czech Army. She highlighted the prestigious nature of the competition and noted that the second-place finish is a testament to the high level of training and excellent preparedness of Czech snipers. Černochová emphasized that this achievement serves as excellent promotion for the army and the Czech Republic on an international stage.

Members of the Defense Committee in the Chamber of Deputies also joined in expressing their pride and appreciation for the Czech snipers. Josef Flek (STAN), the committee’s Vice Chairman, lauded the marksmen’s accomplishment, stating, “The Czech marksmen never disappoint! Congratulations on the silver medal at the prestigious European Best Sniper Team competition. This outstanding representation only proves the capabilities of our soldiers and our capable army.”

The success of the Czech snipers in the European Best Sniper Team Competition reflects their commitment to excellence and the level of training and preparation they undergo to compete at an international level. Their performance not only brings honor to the Czech Army but also demonstrates the skill and dedication of Czech military personnel.
