Dangerous ice won’t go away, meteorologists warned

We will continue to deal with ice on Thursday. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) modified and extended the ice warning on Wednesday afternoon and added a warning about the danger of heavy frost.

While in Prague, Karlovy Vary, Plzeň, and parts of the Central and South Bohemia regions, the risk of ice formation should pass on Wednesday afternoon. In Ústí and Liberec region, we will be able to encounter thick ice up to two millimeters thick until Thursday morning.

In the rest of the territory, except parts of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions, there will be a threat of weak ice formation until Thursday. In Bohemia until Thursday at 9:00 a.m.; in Moravia and Silesia until 6 p.m.

In parts of the Vysočina, South Moravian, and Moravian-Silesian regions, meteorologists expect a risk of heavy frost up to Thursday morning, possibly more than three centimeters thick.

As in previous days, both drivers and pedestrians should beware.
