Dánským sportovcem roku 2022 se stal Jonas Vingegaard. Tento cyklista vyhrál dvě etapy, puntíkovaný vrchařský trikot, žlutý trikot lídra a tím tedy i největší světový etapový cyklistický závod Tour de France 2022. Vingegaard byl označen jako jedinečný, a jeho vítězství jako historické a přispívající ke sjednocení Dánska. 
Nominován byl také dánský badmintonista Victor Axelsen a dánský drezurní národní tým, který v roce 2022 získal zlato na mistrovství světa.

Danish Sports Name of the Year 2022 is Jonas Vingegaard. The cyclist won two stages, the dotted mountain jersey, the yellow leader’s jersey and thus the world’s biggest stage cycling race Tour de France in 2022. Vingegaard’s was described as unique, historical and as a contribution to uniting Denmark.
Also nominated was Danish badminton player Victor Axelsen, and the Danish dressage national team who won gold at the World Championship in 2022.
