One year ago, Russia launched its illegal invasion of Ukraine and brought the horrors of full-scale war back to Europe. Finland has from the beginning strongly condemned Russia’s aggression. We continue to demand Russia to end its war immediately.

Finland and the EU stand firmly with Ukraine against Russia’s aggression. The EU and its Member States have supported Ukraine with over EUR 50 billion.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is an attack against the entire European security order. Finland decided to apply for NATO membership after a thorough assessment of the changed security environment. Finland’s membership will make NATO stronger.
