Czech experts highly rated the results of parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan
In Prague on March 24, 2023 – representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, deputies of the Senate of Parliament, leading experts of Prague analytical institutes, media representatives of the Czech Republic discussed the results of the elections to the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
Czech experts discussed development prospects for general parliamentaryism, as well as further strengthening and developing bilateral political, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
Professor Yan Shvets, doctor of political science at Masarikov University, said: “The peculiarity of the elections to the lower chamber of the parliament of Kazakhstan is that they are a key component of the social and political reforms initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. Reforms are aimed at strengthening the protection of the rights and freedoms of Kazakhstan citizens, and to ensure a diversity of political views in the representative bodies of the government.”
Slavomir Horak, PhD in Sociology, professor at Karlov University: “Kazakhstan is an important strategic partner for the European Union, political stability and continuous, reliable development are crucial for the region. Kazakhstan held democratic elections, and international political institutions in the world confirmed the transparency and competitiveness of parliamentary elections, undoubtedly an important step to further strengthen stability and sustainable development.”
Czech political scientists, leading experts in their words: “The Republic of Kazakhstan is interesting for the Czech Republic in terms of the formation and development of political institutions, civil society, non-governmental organizations.” » At the end of the event, Kazakh diplomats answered all the questions of journalists.
