Yesterday, the Embassy in cooperation with the Department of South Slavic and Balkan Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University hosted Cvetko Bevc on a literary evening.
The author of many works and winner of several awards, by reading excerpts from the book titled Libar and from the poetry collection titled Sled ogjenjena pencil, created an extremely emotional atmosphere for the gathered audience, followed by a lively dance. the rights about time periods, examples and moments in which the author’s work is born. In the mentioned poetry collection the author in her own way embroiled a biography of writer and publicist Zofka Kveder, who among other things lived and created in Prague.

The author of many works and the holder of several awards read excerpts from her book Libar and from the poetic collection Foot of the Fire Pencil, creating an extremely emotional atmosphere for listeners, followed by a live discussion about times, examples and moments, in nothing when the author of the work was born. In the poetry collection the author woven in a unique way the biography of the writer Zofka Kveder, who lived and worked in Prague, among other things.
CVETKA BEVC is a poet, writer, musician and screenwriter. She participated in many readings at home and abroad, translations of a selection of her poems and stories were published in several languages. Author of radio games, scripts for documentary films and over thirty published literary works. Writes prose, poetry, youth literature and drama. Winner of several awards, among them a finalist for the Kresnik prize for the novel Potoveci (2012) for the best Slovenian novel, multiple nominee for the best short story of the magazine Modern and the recipient of the year 2019, nominee for the prize tennica for Najbo. lighter youth work (2020, 2014, 2012, 2011) and evening party (2012). She received the Silver Poetry Pen Award for poetry in 2014 at the International Poetry Festival in Varna (Bulgaria), in 2020 the Fanny Hausmann Award for the best poetry cycle, for which she is nominated this year as well. Among her last recognitions is the Kresnica award (2022) for the best engaged, poetry collection dedicated to women (Trace of a fired pencil).
