Embassy of Slovenia in Prague / Velvyslanectví Republiky Slovinsko v Praze

Ambassador Tanja Strniša attended an exhibition yesterday in the Parliament House 🇨🇿 as a sign of protest against violence against women with the title: “I could be here@, where victims of violence are presented with their clothes.
Art installation by Keren Goldstein Yechezkeli is on display in Prague thanks to the Israeli embassy and the Czech non-governmental organization Women for Women.
Setting through personal stories highlights the global problem of 47,000 women and girls murdered annually by their partners or relatives worldwide. Each of the pieces of clothing exhibited carries a story of a woman, often a mother, who became a victim of violence. The date of death, the method of murder and the length of the sentence for the perpetrators were also added. At the exhibition you can hear lullaby melodies sung by women in different languages.
The settings in Prague also added the dress of Czech writer Simone Monyová, who was murdered by her husband in 2011 in Brno.
The sponsorship of the exhibition was taken by the president of the Chamber of Representatives Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová and a member of the subcommittee for domestic violence and sexual violence in the Chamber of Deputies Mr. Michal Zuna.
