Embassy of Sweden in Czechia
3. June is the World Bicycle Day! Yesterday we rode through Prague with another 450 participants in (greatly organized again!) @osn_cz ) cycling together with the teams of @spolekautomat and other embassies. Our team was led by the representative of Ambassador Marie Bendegard. The weather was really Swedish!
In Stockholm and other Swedish cities, you can pass through the city’s main tracks and corridors, so nothing stops you on your way to work or to pick your children up at school. In addition, the road is safe, even for children. People prefer a bike than a car, regardless of the weather!
Up to 20% of Swedes ride by bike to school or work
On an average day, 936,000 Swedes between the ages of 6 and 84 go for a bike, i.e. about 10% of the population
On average, everyone will travel 6.5 km divided into 2.2 roads
The average bicycle ride is 3.1 km
