Embassy of the Netherlands in Czechia

Today we celebrate International Mother Language Day.
About 24 million people speak Dutch as a mother tongue. Did you know that Dutch is an official language in the Netherlands, Belgium, Suriname, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten?
Dutch is famous for its gutteral ch/g sounds (want to have laugh? Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYHFs7EWmXY&t=39s).
And did you know that you can study the Dutch language at three Czech universities? We meet Dutch speakers with degrees from Brno, Olomouc and Prague everywhere!
If your mother tongue is Dutch but you live abroad, this initiative of Taalunie especially for (r)emigrants may be of interest. The page collects all kinds of information on Dutch language lessons, culture and literature, but also shows you events in all regions of the world: https://taalunie.org/…/nieuw-op-mijnnederlands…
