Euro society

The EU elections weren’t only about the Green Deal and migration pact, but also about the Czech way of life. The Fiala government is changing Czech society more than perhaps any government since right after the revolution. It’s paradoxical that a ruling coalition headed by a nominally conservative party that also includes a nominally Christian party is letting the school system go to hell, is overseeing the end of traditional pub life that helps keep villages together, is raising property taxes in a way that weekend cottages could eventually lose their appeal, and is bringing in high numbers of incompatible foreigners from faraway lands. The Fiala government decided that being good Europeans means suppressing characteristics that, for good or for bad, have defined Czech society for generations. This new political product is similar to the lower-quality, standardized Euro beer that took over after Western breweries invaded. In these elections, a majority of voters decided they don’t want a Euro society.
