Former Headquarters of Czech Social Democratic Party in Prague 8 targeted by Thieves

Thieves Attempt to Break into Former Headquarters of Czech Social Democratic Party in Prague 8

The former headquarters of the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) in Prague 8 was the target of an attempted break-in by thieves. However, there was nothing to steal as the party branch is in disrepair and no longer in use. A window was recently smashed and likely broken into.

According to Lucie Žemličková, the party’s secretary for Prague, they no longer use the space. They terminated the lease agreement with Prague 8 in the fall of 2022, and since then, they haven’t been using the space. Žemličková confirmed that the party is operating normally despite not having a current headquarters.

Karel Šašek, a member of the regional leadership of ČSSD Prague, stated that the party’s members in Prague 8 now meet at the party’s headquarters. They handed over the former headquarters last year, and they now meet in Lidový dům. Šašek mentioned that it’s not limiting, and it’s not far from Lidový dům, so it’s okay. Public transportation goes there, making it convenient for the members.

The former headquarters of ČSSD Prague 8 is located near the Palmovka metro station on Zenklova Street. The eighth district is known for being one of the most crime-ridden areas in Prague. Despite the attempted break-in, there was nothing to steal since the party branch is in disrepair and no longer in use.

In conclusion, the attempted break-in at the former headquarters of ČSSD Prague 8 is a reminder of the ongoing crime issue in the eighth district of Prague. However, it was fortunate that there was nothing to steal, and the party members are operating normally despite not having a current headquarters.
