Dokument sleduje poslední rok života Daniho Karavana, izraelského sochaře a představitele land artu, který je nejvíce známý pro site specific památníky a pomníky, mezi které patří například berlínský památník evropských Sintů a Romů zavražděných za druhé světové války nebo památník německého filozofa Waltera Benjamina ve španělském Portbou. Podle Karavana „umění a politiku nelze oddělit“.

WHAT: Screening of the Israeli-Polish documentary High Maintenance – The Life and Work of Dani Karavan and discussion with director Barak Heymann.

The documentary follows the last year of the life of Dani Karavan, an Israeli sculptor and exponent of land art, who is best known for his site-specific monuments and memorials, such as the Berlin Memorial to the European Sinti and Roma murdered in World War II or the German philosopher Walter Benjamin’s monument in Portboa, Spain . According to Karavan, “art and politics cannot be separated”.
