Even in Israel, it’s not an ordinary experience for the experts who work with these animals every day.

Weighing 94 kg and 95 cm long, Melanie, a female green sea turtle found during Hurricane Barbara that hit Israel in early February, is one of the largest turtles to ever arrive at the המרכז הארצי להצלת צבי הים turtle rescue center in Michmoret on the coast of the Mediterranean.
