Jack lands in Prague on exchange

Jack Freeman departed from Tullamarine airport in shorts and was greeted by a negative three degree temperature in the Czech Republic on his arrival for a 12-month stay as a Rotary Club of Kyabram exchange student.

Steph Dean, who is the Kyabram Rotary Club president and also a member of the District 9790 Youth Exchange Committee, said Jack had been an outstanding choice and she expected him to have an amazing experience.

Jack was among a number of exchange students departing from Tullamarine on the same day and the club has since received news of his safe arrival in the Czech Republic — where he will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Znojmo.

He was last year named the Kyabram Young Citizen of the Year for his work in the Scouting movement and community-minded approach to his teenage years.

There are 42 students involved in long and short-term exchanges all around the world.

Steph was herself an exchange student with the Rotary program, boarding a plane in 2012 to spend a year in Germany.
