KFC has been on the Czech market for 30 years

KFC is the largest fast-service restaurant chain in the Czech Republic. This year the brand celebrates its 30th anniversary on the Czech market. It will not let up with the opening of new restaurants and estimates that it will serve nearly 28 million customers during this year.
Customers enjoy chicken specialties in 127 branches in 40 cities.  “Our vision is that the crispy chicken pieces from KFC can be tasted by people from all corners of the Czech Republic. They will already find us not only in the big cities, but also in the smaller ones. We also plan to expand the restaurant network at a similar pace this year,” says Ivana Makalová Dlouhá, KFC Director for the Czech Republic and Austria.
KFC also offers a delivery option, which currently accounts for 8% of total orders. Delivery can be used at 110 branches.
The largest share of orders (47%) is still made up of cash registers. At self-service kiosks, of which the chain has a total of 500 at 126 branches, 45% of orders were made. The largest financial average on kiosks is in the branch in Kaprova Street and in the motorway restaurants Nine Crosses, Elbow and Southern.
Already, KFC also offers the option of ordering via a mobile app. At two restaurants, the chain also tested the possibility of table service. “We are not yet able to say whether we will go in this direction or when we would mention this possibility on restaurants,” adds Ivana Makalová Dlouhá.
KFC’s most popular products include buckets with various chicken combinations accounting for almost 20% of sales. A quarter go for tortilla products such as Twistery or Qurrito. Among the favourites is the possibility of alternative attachments, such as rice.
In its strategy, KFC emphasizes sustainability. Wooden cutlery, straws and paper bags are not put on orders automatically, but only on request.
