KLM Boeing 777 #KL896 just diverted to Prague due to low fuel concerns

kLM flight from Shanghai to Amsterdam diverted to Prague due to fuel concerns.

KLM #KL896 departed Shanghai at 13:18 CST for a scheduled 13-hour flight to Amsterdam.

The flight was operated by a Boeing 777-300ER (registration PH-BVP) which is 8 years old.

The aircraft flew over China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia then turned to Europe via Romania and Hungary.

According to Airport Webcams, the flight had to divert to Prague due to fuel minimums for Amsterdam. The twitter account reports a Northerly route around China, due to an unscheduled activated military zone.

The flight is supposed to resume after refueling operations from Prague Václav Havel Airport by 20:30 local time.

Landing in Amsterdam is not expected before 21h30 local time, about 2 hours late.
