Four-time Olympic champion cross-country skier Therese Johaug 26. 10. 2023 in Prague at a press conference she introduced her clothing brand, which will be newly sold in the Czech Republic. She has a collection of sportswear exclusively for women. The Norwegian star started the “Johaug” brand eleven years ago, when she fulfilled her childhood dream. She has more time for business after finishing her professional career last year. But she also has to take care of her five-month-old daughter in addition to the business.
She started with gloves. It wasn’t until 2015 that she expanded her products into a full sports fashion collection. “I can come up with what I’d like, what I’ve missed, what’s important to me in training when I’m running or running. It’s really fun to create clothes that are just for women,” she said.
She is the founder and owner of the company and is actively personally involved in the business. “I do everything from sales to marketing, product testing and design. I have a lot of people who work in Oslo. They’re great, great experts. I have a lot to learn from them. It’s fun now that I have more time,” said the three-time World Cup overall winner.
She does not forget the experience she has gained in top-level sport. “We compete here too, we compete with other brands. I’m trying to bring what I’ve learned in sports to my company,’ she said. And even though she’s already finished her professional career, she can’t imagine life without moving. “I love running. Hopefully one day I’ll take part in a marathon or a half marathon. I’m doing a bit of roller-skiing and weight lifting. I train every day,” Johaug revealed.
Czech cross-country skiing legend Kateřina Neumannová also took part in the presentation of her brand. After years in uniform representative attire, she enjoys being able to wear whatever she wants. ‘Often some new cycling outfit motivates me that I’m looking forward to riding in it at The Fiddler. Or I’m looking forward to getting a new T-shirt and tennis players to run,” the Olympic champion from Turin confided.
