More than half of Czechs buy food mainly at discounts

Rising food prices have impacted the shopping behavior of Czech households, with more than half of them seeking out discounts and shopping only during these periods. According to a survey conducted by Kruk, 54 percent of Czechs, particularly women (61 percent), look for food discounts and shop only during these periods.

The survey also revealed that 28 percent of Czechs now shop only for basic food items, 20 percent have started buying lower-quality food and around 16 percent have adjusted their diet to reduce food costs. Rising prices have also led to a tenth of Czechs traveling to neighboring countries to purchase cheaper food.

The survey also found that most Czech households spend between 5,000 and 10,000 Czech Crowns on food per month.
