On the 14^th September 2022, the Mexican Embassy has organised the 212th Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico, which this year coincides with the Centenary of Diplomatic Relations between Mexico and the Czech Republic.

The Ambassador Leonora Rueda has presided over the ceremony of the traditional “Grito de Dolores”, an act that took place in the room of concerts of the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) in the Liechtenstein Palace. During the ceremony, the national anthems of Mexico and of the Czech Republic were sung, followed by speeches by Ambassador Rueda and the guest of honor, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Martin Tlapa.

The distinguished attendees were able to enjoy a magnificent musical presentation by the Mariachi Azteca from Prague, in ensemble with the Virtuosi Brunensis Orchestra, who accompanied with typical Mexican songs the wonderful presentations of the folkloric ballet “Dvorana” and the ballet dancers, Valeria Gaona and Carlos Ruiz. The musical part concluded with the presentation of the soprano Naomi Villegas “Viva México”
