PHILIPPINE FOOD ATTRACT CROWD AT FESTIVAL OF EMBASSIES IN PRAGUE
The Embassy of the Philippines in the Czech Republic kicked off its celebration of the 126th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by participating in the 7th Festival of Embassies: Food, Culture, and Tourism held at the Vítězné náměstí, Prague 6 on 8 June 2024. The Office of the Municipal District of Prague 6, in cooperation with the Farmers Markets Association, organized the event.
Two Filipino vendors from the Czech Republic and Germany, in coordination with the Philippine Embassy, joined about 50 embassies and consulates general in showcasing their native food and beverage and traditional culture at what was considered as one of the largest gastronomic festivals in Prague. Filipino, Czech, and foreign citizens patiently queued at the two Filipino stalls to try sisig, papaitan, dinakdakan, adobo, kare-kare, biko, banana cue, among other traditional Filipino food.
The Igorots in the Czech Republic, whose members mostly live and work in Prague and Brno, performed the Igorot courtship “tadek” dance to the delight of the crowd. END
