Prague Endoscopy Days 2024: Meeting of Leading Gastroenterologists and Endoscopists from All Over the World

Experts in the field of gastroenterology and endoscopy gathered for a prestigious event in the field, the Prague Endoscopy Days 2024 workshop, which took place on 22 and 23 February at the City Conference Centre in Pankrác, attracted outstanding experts and offered a wide range of topics and discussions.

The event was dominated by an impressive line-up of experts who flew in from the United States, the United Kingdom and Romania to share their knowledge and experience. Notable experts such as Kenneth Binmoeller, Michel Kahaleh, Mouen Khashab, Christopher C. Thompson, Darina Kohoutova, Edward Despott and Marcel Tantau. This year’s programme included exciting key topics including bariatric endoscopy, endoscopic hepatology, drainage using lumen aposing stents, third-space endoscopy, and gastrointestinal oncology. The importance of the event is also reflected in the fact that the workshop was opened, among others, by Vlastimil Valek, Minister of Health of the Czech Republic.

Live broadcasts were held throughout Thursday and on Friday until lunchtime. After lunch, “hands-on” trainings were held where participants had the opportunity to try out training on stations such as the endoscopic suture or the lumen aposing stent and many others. The programme traditionally included the Nurses Section and the Young Gastroenterologists Section. The organizers sought to be as accessible as possible, and therefore opted for a hybrid workshop format that allowed participants to join either in person in Prague or online from any location. The PED 2024 workshop became not only a platform for sharing the latest knowledge and techniques, but also for establishing new contacts and exchanging ideas among professionals from all over the world.

One of the highlights of the event was also the social evening at the Prague Crossroads, which offered not only an opportunity for a cultural experience thanks to the exhibition of Dr. Pavel Wohl’s paintings, but also an informal setting for further discussions and meetings among the participants. During the evening, guests were able to experience a live musical show full of singing and dancing brought to them by the Karavana Swingers band. A total of 445 participants from 24 countries, exhibitors and partners attended the event. A big thank you from GUARANT International also goes to the entire project team of Katrin Hasíková Kopčáková, and everyone who participated in the event. According to the feedback from participants and companies, everyone is already looking forward to the next edition.
