**Political Summit in Prague**
Today, Prague will host a significant political summit at the Kramář Villa. Prime Minister Petr Fiala will meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņová. The main topics of discussion will include ammunition assistance for Ukraine, air defense strategies, and cooperation within the defense industry. This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of European leaders to support Ukraine amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

**Health Concerns: Whooping Cough Outbreak**
Czechia is currently facing a severe outbreak of whooping cough, with 1,428 new cases reported in the past week. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 16,260 cases have been recorded. The State Health Institute has been closely monitoring the situation, emphasizing the importance of vaccination and timely medical intervention to curb the spread of this highly contagious respiratory disease.

**Weather Forecast**
Residents of Prague should prepare for an overcast day with potential rainfall. The temperature is expected to range between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius. This weather pattern is typical for late May, bringing cooler temperatures and frequent showers. Citizens are advised to carry umbrellas and wear appropriate clothing to stay dry and warm throughout the day.

**Defense Spending Warning**
Tomáš Pojar, the national security advisor, issued a stark warning at a recent parliamentary security conference. He stressed that Czechia must increase its defense spending to at least 2% of GDP. Failure to do so now could result in the necessity of allocating as much as 5-6% in the future to ensure national security. This statement highlights the growing emphasis on military readiness and the need for sustained investment in defense capabilities.

**New Travel Service to Croatia**
Starting Friday, May 31, RegioJet will inaugurate a new bus service from Prague to the Croatian resort town of Split. The route will be served by the company’s state-of-the-art double-decker bus, the Setra S-531-DT. In June and September, the service will operate three times a week (on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays), while in July and August, it will run daily. This new service offers a convenient and modern travel option for those looking to visit one of Croatia’s most popular coastal destinations.
