Presidential Election: Nerudova Calls On Her Supporters To Vote For Pavel in Second Round

Danuse Nerudova, who came in third place in the first round of the Czech presidential election with 13.9% of the vote, announced that she will actively support Petr Pavel and take part in his campaign events. Nerudova, who is an academic, called on the 777,000 voters who supported her during the first round to vote for retired general Pavel in the runoff.

She stated that it was necessary to “defeat the evil that is here” and that former Prime Minister Andrej Babis, who also advanced to the runoff, must not become the head of state. Nerudova and Pavel’s campaign teams have agreed on the details of their cooperation, including sharing advertising space and appearing together at events.

Pavel also announced that he is in talks with another candidate, senator Pavel Fischer, who came in fourth place with 6.7% of the vote, to also potentially receive his support.
