Reassessing our own covid response

Did Health Min. Vlastimil Válek really say on Mon., as Právo reported, that the drastic covid restrictions that prevailed for nearly two years had “zero effect”? Here’s a translation of the exact quote from his press conference: “We will certainly not introduce any draconian measures, because it has been shown, and this was clearly confirmed today by expert teams of researchers from Germany and other countries, that all the draconian measures that were introduced had no major effect; they only meant huge losses for the economy, economic losses. Yes, in the period when we did not know as much about the disease as we know today, it may have been justified in some cases, but today we know that it is unnecessary, and we are certainly not going to go down the road of North Korea and similar pseudo-countries.” This unusual comment from a serving politician should raise a big question in the minds of intelligent people without a self-interest in the covid industry: Have we been had?
