Survey: The welfare system is opaque

A survey of representatives from non-profit organizations and academic institutions conducted by the Centre for Economic and Market Analysis (CETA) has found that the welfare system is too complex and difficult to navigate.

The study, conducted for the Invisible Project, which aims to map socially excluded groups, found that the process for granting benefits can be slow and that the criteria for eligibility are not always clear. Additionally, the survey found that people often do not know what benefits they are entitled to and that the system can be demotivating for those who need help.

CETA recommends increasing staff at labor offices, improving communication between offices, digitizing the system and making the criteria for eligibility more clear in order to make the welfare system more efficient.
