T-Mobile increased operating profit by 2.3 percent to 12.35 billion last year

T-Mobile, a mobile operator in the Czech Republic, announced in a press release on Thursday that it had increased its EBITDA by 2.3 percent to CZK 12.35 billion in the previous year. The company’s revenues also rose 4.7 percent to CZK 30.1 billion. The total number of customers increased by 2% yearly to 6.423 million, with the number of prepaid card users falling 1.1 percent to 1.956 million.

The company also reported a 47.4 percent increase in mobile data consumption, while T-Mobile TV viewers increased 10.5 percent to 237,000 connections. However, the company’s CEO, Jose Perdomo Lorenzo, noted that the company’s operations and activities had been affected by the military conflict, significant inflation, and the rise in the price of various commodities, including fuel and energy. The energy to run T-Mobile’s energy-intensive networks has increased fivefold in price.

By the end of 2022, 363,468 households in the Czech Republic will have access to fiber-optic internet, which is approximately 80,000 more connections than the previous year. The operator’s pace of covering additional sites mainly depends on regulatory requirements, and the company has minimal options to accelerate it. As a result, T-Mobile has agreed with Vodafone to mutually share infrastructure, making constructing the fiber-optic network more economical, efficient, and faster.

The T-Business division of T-Mobile, which focuses on corporate customers, has been expanding its private 5G networks for universities and industry. The company has built private campus 5G networks for the Technical University of Liberec and the CEITEC site at the Brno University of Technology. Kvados and Toyota have also started using T-Mobile’s private 5G networks. Since January, the division has become the leading partner of the National Industry 4.0 Center platform at CIIRC ČVU. A joint testbed for Industry 4.0 has been established to support the development of the research and experimentation environment.

T-Mobile is part of the multinational Deutsche Telekom Group and uses 100 percent renewable electricity for its operations, optimizes its technological infrastructure, reduces material consumption, takes care to eliminate plastics, and promotes a circular economy.

In conclusion, T-Mobile’s positive financial results and expansion of fiber-optic internet and private 5G networks demonstrate the company’s commitment to improving its services and supporting the development of the research and experimentation environment in the Czech Republic. The company’s efforts towards sustainability are also noteworthy and demonstrate a commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
