The Metro Theater is starting a new season
The Metro Theater at Prague’s Národní třída No. 25 is starting a new season with a whole range of actors. In the repertoire, the audience will find comedies with Czech and world premieres, as well as well-known established titles. They are: 8. 9. CZECH PREMIERE I’M OVULATING TONIGHT – the story of a woman who wanted a child with Iva Pazderková. 5. 10. PREMIERE DIRTY BUSINESS – crazy comedy with a criminal plot with M. Etzler, J. Štréble, D. Ratajský, M. Kraus, M. Procházková and K. Pechová. 15. 10. RENEWED PREMIERE KRAVATE KLUB – a wonderful ride, fast, fun and dangerous with M. Etzler and M. Pechlát. 6. 11. THE RENEWED PREMIERE OF MILENA HAS A PROBLEM – playful, predatory, but also serious and above all funny performance with Šárka Vaculíková. 26. 11. PREMIERE AT CHRISTMAS I’LL BE GAY – spicy comedy about the difficult life of engaged heterosexual men. Starring: M. Zounar, F. Blažek, Z. Maryška, M. Randová and M. Dittrichová.
On September 14, the Metro Theater starts the new season with the play Two Naked Guys, which has been one of the most visited comedies in the Czech Republic for several years.
About the history of the Metro Theater: Since 1990, Studio Gag, a pantomime troupe founded by Boris Hybner, has operated in the current premises of the Metro Theatre. In 2002, Divadlo Metro was established, thanks to its founders, Mr. and Mrs. Urban, the black theater troupe of František Kratochvíl moved from the Prague Reduta to the opposite premises of the Metro Palace, where thanks to this, one of the most original black theaters located in the center of Prague was created. In addition, dozens of drama performances took place here, and dozens of acting names took turns on the now legendary stage during this time: from Boris Rösner, Jiří Štěpnička, Zdenek Žák, Jan Přeučil, Ljuba Skořepová to Stella Zázvorková. She also performed her last theater performance in her artistic life here – Dear Mother, Dear Daughter, for which she won the Thálie Award in 2000, among others.
