This year’s FRESH SENIOR FESTIVAL will show the way to an active old age

How to stay active even in old age, avoid isolation, and not give up on a positive approach to life? Visitors to the tenth jubilee FRESH SENIOR FESTIVAL will find answers to not only these questions, which will take place on September 12 from 1 p.m. in the area in front of Písecká brána in Prague 6. The event is free for visitors and offers a rich cultural program, which includes performances by the Života 90 Theater at Valšů, flamenco dancer Fiesta de Flores, genuine Mexican Mariachi Azteca di Praga, a retro fashion show by the i60 portal, a theater sketch by the Proměna association and others. The festival also offers the opportunity to meet a wide range of experts in lectures and individual consultations, as well as various workshops, including the popular Nordic walking, Tai Chi, Qigong or self-defense for seniors. In the early evening, the program will conclude with a concert in the colors of SeMaFor. Detailed information is available at www.freshseniorfestival.cz .

FRESH SENIOR FESTIVAL responds to the current complicated economic and political situation, which directly affects the life of every individual, including sensitive seniors. The main idea of the program is therefore to fight against the feeling of loneliness and the loss of social contacts, which should be balanced by various sports and social activities. “The FRESH SENIOR FESTIVAL comes to present the possibilities of leisure activities for seniors for the tenth time, but it also offers them an inspiring meeting with a whole range of experts. In addition to the cultural program, they will present renowned and lesser-known organizations that deal with senior issues. We believe that an active life, cultivating old or finding new hobbies, maintaining social ties and a healthy lifestyle can help seniors even in such complicated and burdensome times as we now find ourselves in.

This time, the one-day festival will take place in the area in front of Písecká brána, at K Brusce 5, Prague 6. Part of the program will offer lectures, meetings and discussions with experts on current topics. In cooperation with organizations such as Život 90, Mezi námi, Recetas, Remedium, Celesta, Wikimedia, the Czech Alzheimer’s Society or the Center for Mental Health, it will be possible to use the services of specialists in the field of social, legal, health and psychological counseling, or to gain new knowledge and options.

The festival afternoon will also be part of the cultural program. Visitors can look forward to the Divadlo u Valšů from Života 90, which will perform the performance Jak se hladí duše with respect to the classics, featuring the poet František Novotný and the Prague String Duo. Flamenci and Mariachi Azteca de Praga will also perform with impressive flamenco demonstrations performed by the dancer Fiesta de Flores accompanied by a traditional Mexican band. The subsequent concert will begin with inspiration for the solo guitar. The band’s traditional instruments – vihuela, guitarron, violin and trumpet impress with their impressive combination. Their repertoire includes classic Mexican pop-folk led by bandleader Alejandro Tamez Quintanilla, which promises a summery, melodic, spirited and colorful cultural experience. This will be followed by a theater sketch by the association Proměna (Remedium Praha) called Everyday Dialogues. There will also be a dance demonstration of the cha-cha style, which will be performed by the finalist of the last year’s Senior Star Dance, Mrs. Olga Smržová and the dancer Filip Muk. The program culminates with a concert in the colors of SeMaFor, where the actors of the SeMaFor theater and the swing band will present themselves in a unique ensemble full of energy, humor and, above all, great music from the pen of Suchý and Šlitra, which last year celebrated the 60s on the scene. The program will include songs from the musicals Well-paid walk, If there were a thousand clarinets and Crime in the Shantan and others. flight on stage. The program will include songs from the musicals Well-paid walk, If there were a thousand clarinets and Crime in the Shantan and others. flight on stage. The program will include songs from the musicals Well-paid walk, If there were a thousand clarinets and Crime in the Shantan and others.
