Participation in the vernissage of the Japan International Manga Award comic book exhibition
Day 11. in January, Ambassador Suzuki in Pilsen attended the opening of the exhibition called “Iogi” dedicated to the comic book of the same name. This comic in the style of the Japanese manga genre, supported by a group of authors from Fakulta designu a umění Ladislava Sutnara ZČU students in Pilsen, won the bronze prize at 15. Japan International Manga Award held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. While in Japan, the exhibition has been held at various places already four times, it is presented for the first time in the Czech Republic. The ambassador appreciated, among other things, that thanks to the exhibition, Czech people can recognize the small joys of Japanese everyday life depicted in the comic, and congratulated all the authors who participated in the project on the success. In 2023 we are remembering our 30th. anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Czech Republic. In any case, this exhibition is a dignified start of this anniversary of mutual relations and represents another chapter in the history of Czech-Japanese cultural cooperation.
The Iogi exhibition runs until Saturday the 4th. February in Galerie Ladislava Sutnara in Pilsen.
