Participation in the grand opening of the community center in Pardubice within the Japan project to support Ukrainian refugees
Day 26 In April, Ambassador Suzuki and his house attended the grand opening of the Kalyna Community Refugee Center in Pardubice, which was formed as part of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) project, under which Japan is helping Ukrainian refugees. The event was attended by workers of the community center, First Deputy Mayor of Pardubice Jakub Rychtecký and many other persons from representatives of non-profit organizations and companies involved in this project. The center will serve not only as an information center for helping refugees from Ukraine, but it will also be an important place for connecting refugees with Czech society, for example, through their interaction with locals or through language education. Ambassador Suzuki expressed pleasure in revisiting the completed center and wishes that the center will become a space that will fill smiling faces of refugees and local people.
The ambassador and his council also viewed the apartment units that were reconstructed as part of the aid project and will soon be rented. Japan will continue to support Ukraine in cooperation with the Czech government, IOM and other UN agencies, non-governmental organizations and other partners.
Japan will continue, in cooperation with the Government of the Czech Republic, the IOM and other international and non-profit organizations, to assist Ukraine.
