Warm Weather Continues to Delay Snow Cover in Czech Mountains

According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, the Czech mountains are experiencing a record-long period without snow cover that is not expected to end within the next five days. Meteorologists predict that new snow cover will only occur on the mountain ridges due to the continued warm weather. Daily highs are expected to be above normal values for this time of year, with Friday’s highs possibly reaching up to 10°C.

The sky is expected to be cloudy or overcast with showers and rain throughout the week. Snow and rain will alternate on the mountains, but due to the high temperatures, meteorologists do not expect a significant increase in snow. The highest afternoon temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be around 6°C, but will warm up to around 10°C on Friday before cooling down again for the weekend with daily highs of up to 7°C.
