Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s security needs with Czech Republic’s new president

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s security needs and European integration in a conversation with the new president of the Czech Republic.

Quote: “I had a conversation with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel. I congratulated him on his official assumption of office. I informed him of the situation at the front, our security needs. We talked about Ukraine’s movement towards the EU. We agreed to continue to actively interact. The Czech Republic’s support is important for Ukraine in the fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation! ” – Zelensky wrote.

On Thursday 9 March, former NATO general Petr Pavel took the presidential oath in the Vladislavský Hall of the Prague Castle [the residence of the head of state – ed.] and thus officially became the president of the country for the next five years.

Petr Pavel replaced Miloš Zeman in the position, who was in office for two terms – ten years in total.
