Žižkov Square in Prague 3 transformed with intelligent public lighting, public toilet, and outdoor gallery

Renovation of Žižkov Square in Prague 3 has transformed the upper part of the square into an inviting public space for relaxation and community interaction. The redesign of the square includes the installation of intelligent public lighting, a public toilet, and an outdoor gallery for showcasing artwork. The project is part of the city’s efforts to create more appealing public spaces for residents and visitors.

The new amenities, including updated benches, trees, shrubs, and perennial gardens, along with a new public toilet, are meant to make the square more welcoming and safer for use. The cobblestone pavement has also been replaced with a more even and rain-absorbent surface.

The new intelligent public lighting system will add to the square’s functionality and safety, with the ability to dim the lights at night to conserve energy. The outdoor gallery will serve as an exhibition space for the nearby arts and crafts school, showcasing its history and artwork. Additionally, the future promises a coffee and food truck to create a more complete space for relaxation and neighborly gatherings.

The renovation of Žižkov Square provides an example of how thoughtful design can make public spaces more functional and inviting. The project serves as a model for future initiatives to create more welcoming urban spaces for community interaction and relaxation.
